BMW Ghost Immobiliser
The Ghost utilizes the data bus CAN to communicate with your vehicle. This stops thieves adding an additional key or replacing the ECU to bypass your security system since it requires a correct PIN code to begin the engine.
In contrast to other immobilisers, unlike other immobilisers, the Ghost does not use LEDs or key fobs. It relies on the buttons of your vehicle to let you access to a unique disarming sequence that you can only remember.
Stop & Start
If you've been in a BMW or used its stop-start feature you might have noticed that the engine continues to run for about 30 seconds after you have released the brake pedal. The BMW engine management system continues to check the vehicle for signals emanating from the ignition key. When it detects this the vehicle will continue to run. The Autowatch 2 Ghost is a device that stops this by stopping the vehicle whenever you hit the button.
Our BMW ghost immobiliser is a unique next-generation device that does not require cutting OEM wires or installing an aftermarket alarms and key fobs. It is connected to your BMW's CAN network and programmed with an encrypted, secure PIN code which is accessible via buttons that are installed in your car. This allows you to enter the key sequences which aren't accessible through the standard media menus. For example the volume up/down button, or source cruise control, air conditioning, etc. The PIN can be between 4 and 20 characters, making it hard for thieves to figure out.
We can also add to the system a service/valet mode. This mode is activated when your car is being serviced so that the Ghost is kept from view by the garage. This can be achieved by pressing the service button on your infotainment system five times (the system will flash to confirm this) and when you return, the Ghost will automatically arm again.

Service / Valet Mode

It makes use of the factory buttons on your vehicle to create an unique push sequence that only you know. This is similar to pin code security for your mobile phone. It's subtle and extremely effective, not to mention stopping even the most zealous thieves from ever trying!
When parked at home or in a meet and greet situation In a meet and greet situation, the Ghost can be put into service mode which allows you to start your car with your keys normally, but prevents the engine from running until the correct code is entered. This is perfect for customers who have to transfer their vehicles to valet companies or trusted family members and friends. This lets you take your car to the garage for servicing, etc. without fearing about it being altered by a mechanic while you are waiting.
If the service/valet mode has been activated, your BMW will not be able to drive after it has been turned on. This will stop anyone else from driving it while you're away. Once you return, the vehicle will return to normal operation and will not be altered or stolen.
The Ghost can be installed on any BMW. All you need are the correct keys, because the device does not utilize the original remotes, but can be used with them. Anti-Hijack

Ghost connects to your CAN network and uses buttons on your vehicle to generate an individual push-sequence that has to be entered before your engine can be started.
Once the anti-hijacking mode is activated, any attempt to restart the engine will be stopped. The system will honk the horn, flash the indicators and stop the vehicle when the code isn't found. The Anti-Hijack feature can be cancelled by entering your push sequence, or by entering service mode which allows your car to begin and drive, without having to enter your PIN.
If you have a GPS device linked up to your BMW it can be used to cancel the Anti-Hijack feature so you can still use the navigation system in your car even when the vehicle is parked and unsupervised. You can also use your smart-phone to control the anti theft feature and other functions.

Remote Control
We can connect your Ghost device to your mobile application for remote control of keyless go and start functionality. This is helpful when you are else and valet or mechanic needs to start your vehicle. The system lets you start the car by selecting drive and then exit the service mode without having to use your key fobs. You can also see your vehicle in real time on a map displayed on your smartphone, perfect for tracking your car whilst moving around.
The Ghost can be positioned under the dashboard or within the centre console, it is completely hidden and tamperproof and does not require any additional wiring. The device is connected to CAN Data Network of the vehicle (similar to Ethernet cable) and a unique pin code is programmed in it. This pin code must be selected prior to the vehicle's start. This prevents thieves from bypassing the system by using the cloned or replaced ECU.
If the vehicle is being stolen the Ghost will go into service mode and shut down all functions until you have the PIN number or use the mobile application to disable it. This feature was created to protect you vehicle from thieves with high-tech equipment who utilize relay boxes to take it. It will even stop the thieves from using their mobile phones to activate your sat nav system or mp3 player to locate your vehicle!
Ghost can also stop "Relay Style Frequency Amplification". This is the most common way a car is being stolen with a key-fob that was copied or stolen via hacking. Ghost allows you to stop this by installing an anti-theft device within your vehicle called Secure-A-Key. The device is inserted into your vehicle's key-fob and disconnects the battery after a couple of minutes of inactivity. This can be done on the majority of modern PKE key-fobs.
